As one of the most highly-regarded business events in the annual calendar, the awards attract hundreds of entries from the brightest minds and entrepreneurial talents the region has to offer, each hoping to gain recognition for their success.
With many years of leadership between them, Directors of Office Monster, Steve Hanley and Ryan Ward, have first-hand insight into the unique obstacles that are faced by those that are responsible for running a company.
Furthermore, having worked hard to increase their own business’ turnover from £70,000 to £1.6m in just five years, both Steve and Ryan appreciate the strength of character and commitment that is essential when managing a growing company.
Noting the all-encompassing nature of the role, Steve comments:
“There is no doubt that the success of a company is directly impacted by the strength of its leaders. Not only are the Directors of a business required to put in place strategies and to support an organisation as it works towards meeting its goals, but they must juggle financial, staffing and market pressures which are often out of their control.
“There is no 9am to 5pm mentality for a true business leader and therefore having the resilience to balance the demands of work with general life is a skill in itself and is something that, when done well, should be commended.”
Having themselves encountered a variety of challenges throughout their time as Directors of Office Monster, the duo is only too aware of the need to be multi-skilled in order to put in place a successful model that meets with the challenges of today while making the most of the opportunities that come from planning for tomorrow.
Ryan added:
“We’re really looking forward to hearing more about the budding business leaders that are nominated for the award and we are proud to be putting our support behind their efforts. Becoming a sponsor gives us the chance to meet with leading talents and to share in their success. We wish everyone who enters the very best of luck.”
With an ever-increasing customer base, and a recent £50,000 investment into its web platform, Office Monster has ambitious plans for future expansion. What’s more, with a strategy in place that will see the business increase its turnover from £3m by the end of the year to £10m in just five years’ time, the company is sharing its own success story.
The winner of the Leadership award will be announced at the awards ceremony on 1st November at The National Railway Museum in York.
