We’ve all had them. The tight feeling in the pit of your stomach on Sunday night. Images of paperwork piled high, tedious meetings and looming deadlines. Before you hit the snooze button or order a double espresso, have a look at our tips. A little bit of planning can get you energised and ready to go every Monday morning.

1. Be prepared

Don’t wait for Monday to plough through your to-do list. Before leaving on Friday, clear your desk of clutter, synch your calendar and make a list using products from Office Monster’s website. What’s the worst pending task? Plan it for first thing Monday morning, then it’s out of the way. Only leave out the work you need for Monday. You’ll thank yourself when you arrive!

2. Get excited

Not everything at work is tough, and there will often be things to look forward too. Write down three things you can look forward to in the coming week at work on an Office Monster white board. When the day gets tough, look at the list to motivate yourself and move on with the day.

3. Sleep well, wake early

Having a routine in place will help you start the day in a good frame of mind. Try getting an early night and wake up early. Go for a walk, have a shower, listen to your favourite upbeat songs. Starting the day well-rested and in a positive frame of mind will make Monday a breeze.

4. Have an after-work plan

Some days things just won’t go your way. Monday may be the toughest day of your week and it can seem insurmountable. If this is the case, plan something fun for after work to make Mondays special. Indulge in your favourite takeaway, join a friend at the cinema or have a tipple in your favourite watering hole. You’ve worked hard, so treat yourself!

5. The bigger problem

You’ve tried all our tips, but things still seem hard. If you dread work every other day of the week too, you may need to look at the cause. Grab your office supplies, make a list of pros and cons and get to the bottom of the problem!
