With the longer days of summer finally upon us, it can prove a struggle to stay motivated at work or home. To help you stay organised and maintain a working routine throughout the summer months, here are our top stationery suggestions to help!

1. Make sticky notes your new best friend

We constantly jump from one thought to another and sticky notes are the perfect way to collect your thoughts and make better use of brainstorming. You can also use them as reminders to yourself and colleagues, or stick them on a book or wall to track the progress of a plan or idea.

2. Find the perfect pen match

Everyone has a specific pen preference. Some people like to write with gel pens, others with ballpoint and some people like to go old-school and write with vintage fountain pens. Either way, find which works best for you and stock up. You’d be surprised at how productive you can be with the correct pen.

3. Go back to school with a whiteboard

Visually laying your plans, ideas or itinerary on a whiteboard can make you more efficient with your time and therefore make you more productive and organised. It’s easier to tick things off a list when they’re right in front of you. It will also motivate you to know things are getting done.

4. Separate your projects with notebooks

Don’t try to muddle all your ideas and work into one notebook, things will become disorganized and will result in you feeling frustrated and stressed. Take a new notebook for each project and specifically name the project title on the front. This way you can organise all your thoughts and notes together in one place and it will also allow you to have easy access to particular notes when you need to find something quickly. An organised office means an organised mind!

5. Organise your mail

It’s not uncommon to fling your mail into the corner with the intention to “deal with it later” – we are all guilty. However, this is how important letters go missing. Use letter trays to separate your mail from “junk” and important. That way you can read important stuff immediately and sort through the junk in the evenings.
